Andi Magenheimer makes drawings, watercolors and oil paintings on paper and canvas and doesn't update her website with the images nearly often enough as they get painted too quickly. Among several groups of work, the demonic red cowgirl stands out as the antihero avatar of deepest desire, doing the all the murdering, dancing with death, and leapfrogging over the old gods under the light of the moon. Magenheimer also (on super special occasions) performs Lynchian cowboy songs on the guitar as “Dusty Miller”. Magenheimer graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 2012 and The School of Visual Art in 2009. Awards include the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Special Projects Award, Burren Exchange, and the Rhodes Family Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Visual Arts. Her work can currently be seen at the Donaldson Gallery, Farmington CT 8/14/2018-9/22/2018, and she is accepting visits for the curious and eager at her studio spot in Dalston, London.
